Charles Schwab Manager, Software Development & Engineering in Austin, Texas

Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Implement standard automation and software quality patterns based on industry best practices. Utilize Agile, Scrum processes in planning, implementing, and supporting business application components and services, including change and release management. Provide technical solution for any new changes to be made or new features to be implemented in the application. Work on making the required configuration changes and using the new configuration in the frontend application to produce the required behavior. Make necessary changes in the backend services to support the new features. Test changes by deploying to development environment. Use the pipeline to deploy changes to UAT. Acting as Security SME for the application fixing any issues identified as part of routine testing and keeping the application secure. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $163,000 - $214,700

What you have

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related field, plus 6 years of progressive, post-Bachelor’s related experience.

Experience must include some experience in each of the following skills: Architecting and implementing enterprise level web and webservice applications in the cloud; Java, Angular, Spring Boot, SOAP and Rest services; SQL and No-SQL Databases MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, or RabbitMQ; Developing and maintaining CI/CD Pipeline; Enterprise Application Security using OAuth or similar; Standard automation and software quality patterns using mocking frameworks, writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests; and Agile, Scrum processes in planning, implementation, and support of business applications and services.
