Actalent Inspector in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Description: Provides technical assistance for the inspection, design, maintenance, construction, and operation of the electric transmission and distribution systems. Also provides project management, contract administration, and regulatory correspondence. Has the expertise to plan, design, complete cost estimates, manage projects, and provide technical expertise in a limited number of technical areas such as: T&D maintenance plans, T&D operations plans, and engineering and construction codes and standards.

  • Performs transmission and distribution regulatory inspections, including field and office inspections. (40%)

  • Provides contract administration duties for aerial patrols, transmission tower painting, and wood pole treatment program contractors. (25%)

  • Provides regulatory correspondence, including annual and quarterly regulatory reports, probable violation responses, re-franchising transmission lines, and filing the IUB inspection and maintenance plan. (25%)

  • Populating and updating the TIM database. (10%)

  • Needs to have knowledge of the NESC (National Electrical Safety Code)

Qualifications:

  • Must have 2+ years inspector experience

  • Preference towards candidates with Associate's degree in Engineering
