Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Java Developer to join one of our largest financial clients in Jersey City and/or NYC 3 days a week. This person will be joining the Market Data Technology & Services team within the Applications Production Services and Engineering group (APS&E). (MDT&S) is responsible for the full product lifecycle for News, Real-time, Reference and Index data across the firm. The Engineering & Development group are responsible for the architecture and development of market data technologies deployed at the firm and the team's goal is to provide a reliable managed market data service that can be used by business groups to facilitate the dissemination of pricing data globally in the firm.

For this role, we are looking for a mid-senior level developer who will be involved in design and deployment of market data systems and services that will be used by the different business units in the firm. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in software and API development.

Individuals who have market data experience are ideal, who have a strong understanding of the drivers of this and are experienced with troubleshooting and coding on-prem market data systems to process data quickly and efficiently between 3rd party vendors (Reuters, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, NASDEQ, etc.). The Java developer will be spending time on developing internal APIs, made available to clients, that allow users to extract vendor data. Daily duties include hand's on coding, testing, scripting creation, upgrade pass, tuning hardware and software and root cause analysis of the systems. They will be responsible for designing, configuring , deploying, and maintaining physical RHEL and Linux Operating environments. The goal of this space is to deliver real time market data from exchange systems as fast as possible with minimal latency. The position will involve working closely with senior technologists from the engineering, operations and development communities, so excellent communication and technical skills are a must to ensure best practices in this 24x7 environment.

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

5+ years of experience as a Java Developer, specifically developing (Market Data) APIs and related operational tools in Core Java

Experience working with latency critical, high throughput distributed systems

Excellent data structures skills, multi-threaded programming and caching technologies

Expertise in Linux Operating System (RedHat Linux)

Experience with Unix/Shell or Bash Scripting Plusses:

Experience in Refinitiv RFA, RTAPI, RMDS/TREP/RTDS and Bloomberg market data API's

Good knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast, Routing Protocols, Security)

Experience in an Algorithmic Trading environment

Experience with Autosys null
