Description

Jana Chapman with Robert Half Finance & Accounting is seeking a Staff Accountant for a local public accounting firm. This role involves both audit and tax within a variety of industries and offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a desire for variety in their work, flexibility and passion for learning.

This position is primarily on-site with Fridays remote, but there is potential for additional remote days. Salary depends on experience and qualifications. There is a possibility for a higher-level title for candidates with more years of experience in either tax or audit within a public accounting firm. Benefits include 100% covered premium for health/dental/vision, 401k with match, discretionary profit sharing and continuing education. Employees are eligible for either comp time or overtime pay (you decide).

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular audits in accordance with the company's audit plan

• Apply auditing principles and procedures to analyze data, test controls, and assess risks in various business processes

• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and make recommendations to improve internal controls and efficiency

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems to compile and analyze financial information

• Prepare Corporate and Individual Tax Returns as required

• Review and assess compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements

• Communicate regularly with management and audit committee about audit results and challenges

• Provide training and guidance to junior staff members

• Stay updated with changes in regulations that might affect auditing procedures and processes

• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental and company goals.

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an auditing or tax role.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Demonstrated experience in Auditing.

• Experience in preparing Corporate Tax Return.

• Experience in preparing Individual Tax Return.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and professional ethics.

• Familiarity with the principles and practices of public auditing.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
